    Christmas Morning Mimosas

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Christmas morning is a time to be with family and friends. It is also typically a time to eat, drink, open gifts, and take it slow.  Having a fun beverage on Christmas morning can add to the festive and holiday spirit.  Mimosas are a great bright way to start off the day with a toast and to let the fun begin. This pomegranate mimosa recipe is easy, gorgeous, and tasty. It can be made with or without the orange juice if you want a non-traditional champagne mimosa recipe.

A mimosa that sings "Christmas morning...fa la la" must be bright and cheerful in my opinion.  Instead of just traditional orange juice and champagne, this mimosa recipe includes the bright, tart, and the slightly sweet juice of pomegranates. The red color from the pomegranate juice and the seeds is perfect for Christmas. Plus the taste makes for a lovely match with sweet bubbly Champagne or Prosecco for the best Xmas holiday mimosa recipe. For a virgin mimosa recipe, simply use 7-up or Sprite and you have a mocktail great for anyone, even the kids.

How to Make a Christmas Pomegranate Mimosa

This could not be any easier and is the best winter mimosa recipe around. For many, opening the bottle of Champagne or Prosecco may prove to be the most difficult step. Once that is done it is simply a matter of pouring the right amounts of each juice and topping it with lovely pomegranate seeds.

    1. Open Champagne or Prosecco (see non-alcoholic version below)
    2. Fill glasses ΒΎ of the way
    3. Top with pomegranate juice and a splash of orange juice
    4. Sprinkle in a few pomegranate seeds and watch them dance on the top

How to Make a Mocktail / Kid-Friendly Version Mimosa

No one wants to leave out the guests that do not drink alcohol.  Having this virgin mimosa version ensures everyone is in the holiday spirit and can get in for that holiday toast.  All you need is your favorite lemon-lime soda to swap out the Champagne or Prosecco.

    1. Open can of Sprite or 7-Up
    2. Fill glasses ΒΎ of the way
    3. Top with pomegranate juice and a splash of orange juice
    4. Sprinkle in a few pomegranate seeds and watch them dance on the top

Great, Merry Christmas to you all. My youngest loves virgin Pina Coladas - so I try to make fun kid-kocktails for him and others when I can!
