This easy recipe for a yummy Berry Ginger Beer Mocktail is sweet, bold, & refreshing. Sip on this beautiful zero-proof drink all summer - you won't miss the alcohol.

Why this Ginger Beer Mocktail Recipe is Amazing: Unlike other recipes, there is no need to cook an infused simple syrup. My secret ingredient adds ton of berry flavor without the extra step.
I came up with this recipe when I wanted to make something fun for the kids - a fruity virgin cocktail. I already had all the makings for a Pomegranate Moscow Mule for the adults that were coming over so something with ginger beer made sense.

Pomegranate juice is pretty tart so a simple swap for sugary fruit jelly, a kid's favorite, was an easy answer. VIOLA - a jelly inspired drink was created & boy is it amazing. Ok, now we get shaking!

Ingredients
This zero-proof cocktail has only 5 ingredients. The combination results in a bubbly mocktail that's festive and fun without the alcohol.

Here are important notes for some ingredients:
- Ginger Beer - the non-alcoholic mixer is stronger than ginger ale with crisp bright flavor. Diet or Regular works and try brands like Bundaberg, Topo Chico, or Fever Tree.
- Strawberry Jelly - the "secret" item that makes this berry-licious.
- Lemon Juice - a touch of tart citrus to balance the sweet.
- Simple Syrup - adds sweetness; use brands like Rose's, Finest Call, or Stirrings.
- Fresh Berries - blueberries and raspberries work best.
- Fresh Mint - optional garnish

Equipment Needed
Here are the items this recipe requires. This will be a shaken drink served on the rocks. You will need a cocktail shaker - see the TIPS section below how to make this without one.
Plus you will need two glasses or more. You can use lowball (as seen here), high ball, or even copper mugs like used for Moscow mules.

How to Make a Berry Ginger Berry Mocktail
My simple version is a triple-berry non-alcoholic drink that is both pretty & fantastically fizzy - for the party aesthetics you and your guests of all ages will love.
Here are the easy steps for making a mocktail with fresh berries and ginger beer:
- Prep
- Shake & Pour
See the step-by-step instructions with photos below plus the recipe card at the end of the post.
1 - Prep
Begin by washing and drying the berries. If you are using mint, do the same and set aside.

Fill two glasses ⅓ of the way with crushed or cubed ice.

In the shaker add the lemon juice, simple syrup, strawberry jelly, and 1-2 cubes of ice. Place the lid on tight!
2 - Shake & Pour

Shake vigorously for 30 seconds so the jelly dissolves into the other liquids.
Remove the lid and strain while pouring the berry simple syrup into equal amounts between the two glasses.

Top each mocktail with half of the bottle or can of ginger beer. It will bubble up and be immediately fizzy - too much ice may result in not using all the ginger beer.
Garnish & Serve
Top each drink with a few fresh blueberries and raspberries. Optional sprig of fresh mint adds color & pairs well with the fruit & ginger flavors.

What to Serve with Ginger Beer Mocktails : This is a great way to greet your guests at any party. Pair these with some light & healthy appetizers like Roasted Prosciutto Figs or Watermelon Salsa.

Recipe Tips & Behind the Scenes
Here's my recipe for success - including what I learned when testing, fun stories, recipe history, and more.
- #1 Tip - shake for a full 30 seconds or more so the jelly dissolves with the juice and simple syrup.
- If you use preserves or jam, strain over a fine-mesh strainer if you want to remove any possible seeds.
- Don't have a cocktail shaker?! No problem, whisk the jelly with the liquids vigorously in a large glass measuring cup instead - then pour.
- Try using homemade simple syrup which is SO easy!
- This recipe is a virgin version of a berry moscow mule.
- Use low ball, high ball, or copper mugs to serve.
- This is great for baby showers, weddings, sweet 16 birthdays, & holidays.

FAQ
Though both are carbonated beverages, they are a bit different. Ginger beer is brewed and fermented from real ginger, like alcoholic beer, but most brands have no alcohol (check your labels). Ginger ale is a carbonated artificially flavored soda that typically has no real ginger and is not fermented.
The canned or bottle beverage is made from real ginger so the flavor is complex and intense. It is spicy-sweet but not bitter and also tastes great in my fall drink recipe for Spicy Apple Cider Mocktail.
Some brands do but most contain less than .5% alcohol by volume (which is classified as non-alcoholic or spirit free).
