Honestly there is nothing better than cheesy meaty Cheeseburger Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls. Savory buttery soft rolls layered with melty American cheese and a seasoned ground beef patty baked until hot and tasty is a surefire hit. Just add your favorite condiments and try to not eat them all yourself.

Why this Easy Baked Cheeseburger Slider Recipe is Best: This looks & tastes like a real burger. Many recipes crumble & brown the ground beef more like a sloppy Joe or loose meat sandwich - no thanks. My recipe has an actual hamburger patty layer for classic yumminess in every bite.
This is absolutely one of my top 3 favorite Easy Slider Recipes. And that's not just because it's a fast30 minute recipe, they are seriously fantastic!

Like my Philly Cheesesteak Sliders, these are a hit for weeknight dinners, on game day, and at any party where finger food is served. Ok, now we cook!

Ingredients for Cheeseburger Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls
This quick & simple slider recipe is just 5 ingredients plus spices. If you love White Castle, these are 100x better, just saying!

Here are important notes for some ingredients:
- Ground Beef - lean 90/10 or 85/15 work best.
- King's Hawaiian Rolls - I used the savory butter ones but the classic sweet is fine too.
- American Cheese - the traditional processed cheese melts easiest.
- Salted Butter - to baste the tops
- Sesame Seeds - to make sesame seed topped buns
- Spices - salt, black pepper, & garlic to season the burger meat

How to Make Cheeseburger Sliders
This is a great way to eat burgers in the winter when you are not grilling outside. So next time you crave one but it's raining or snowing outside, preheat the oven and make these!
Here are the easy steps for making Sheet Pan Cheeseburger Sliders in the Oven:
- Make the Giant Hamburger Patty
- Assemble the Sliders
- Bake in the Oven
See the step-by-step instructions with photos below plus the recipe card at the end of the post.
1 - Make the Giant Hamburger Patty
This is why my recipe is superior - a real patty. We are not browning crumbled meat in a pan (this isn't chili or taco meat, eek!) like all the other recipes.
Not only does this make it a more authentic burger but it is so much easier to cut and eat - nothing falling out of the bun.
Start by preheating the oven to 400°F.

Begin by adding the 3 spices to the ground beef and combining it with your hands.

Next form the mixture into one large rectangle on a sheet pan lined with foil & topped with nonstick spray (this makes clean up fast).
TOP TIP! Make sure the size is as seen here and that it is larger in length and width than the package of slider rolls. This is so once it cooks & shrinks it will still cover all the bottom rolls.

Bake in the 400°F oven for 10 minutes. It will be done when the juices run clear (not bloody). The internal temperature is 150°F for about medium well. It doesn't look pretty but it will be yummy.
Remove from the oven when done and set aside. Leave the oven on, do NOT turn it off.
As it rests some of the juices will be reabsorbed helping keep these sliders juicy & moist.

As the meat rests for a few minutes, use a sharp bread knife to slice the rolls horizontally through the middle.
2 - Assemble the Sliders
Gather the remaining ingredients and begin layering. Blot any excess fat on the burger with a paper towel if needed.

On another sheet pan lined with foil and sprayed with nonstick spray place the bottom half of the rolls in the middle.

Top with a layer of American cheese so the bread is covered completely. Mine took 5 slices.

Add the slab hamburger patty next.

Top with more processed cheese slices to cover the ground beef layer.

In a small microwave-safe bowl add the butter and melt.

Place the bun tops over the cheese layer. Baste the tops and sides with the melted butter and sprinkle on some sesame seeds.
3 - Bake in the Oven
The oven should still be at 400°F. Place the sliders in the oven and bake for 10 more minutes.

The sliders are ready when the cheese is oozing out of a few of the sides and the bread is warm and slightly golden on top as seen here.

Let the sliders rest for 3 minutes so the cheese has a chance to cool and set. Slice along the lines of the rolls and pull each hot sandwich apart slightly to loosen.
Serving & Storing
Place the warm sliders on a serving board or platter. Serve with sliced pickles, shredded iceberg lettuce, or tomato slices if desired.
Serve with catsup, mustard, or your favorite burger sauce & condiments. Dip into Homemade Ranch without Mayo or drizzle on some Hot Honey.
My recipe for Homemade Pickle Spears in Leftover Pickle Juice is a must. Plus don't forget some Sweet Potato Fries or Onion Rings too.

What to Serve with Cheeseburger Sliders : All the classic burger side dishes go great with these mini burgers too. Enjoy with Air Fryer French Fries or Broccoli Apple Salad.

Recipe Tips & Behind the Scenes
Here's my recipe for success - including what I learned when testing, fun stories, recipe history, and more.
- #1 Tip - Make sure the uncooked ground beef on the baking sheet is BIGGER than the package of slider buns. The meat will shrink when it cooks & will fit closer to the edge of the rolls if it starts off wider and longer.
- Sheet pans work great for this, no casserole dish needed. I find it easier to cool & slice later too.
- Level this up to gourmet status with some Caramelized Onions, blue cheese, & strips of Crispy Toaster Oven Bacon atop the meat instead of the top layer of American cheese.
- Substitute beef with ground chicken or turkey.
- Use any sliced cheese, try cheddar, Swiss, or Pepper Jack.
- For a regular size burger that is a bit gourmet, try my Grilled Wagyu Burger - it's tender, juicy, & the charred crust is delish.
- The first time I made these we 5 ate all 12 and were longing for more. Next time I made a double batch and the leftovers were so yummy popped in the microwave for 20 seconds to reheat the next day. A teen's after school snack dream come true.

FAQ
Yes, simply assemble everything and pop it into the fridge for up to 2 days. Bake when ready to serve & enjoy.
Homemade soft dinner rolls work but I will be honest, that is a lot of work & this is meant to be quick & easy. Store-bought small brioche or potato rolls will work. The freezer section may also have frozen dinner rolls or gluten-free options.
